Gratitude is an Attitude

So lately, I've been thinking about Thanksgiving coming up and mostly I've been dwelling on the fact that "Black Friday" is the day after and dreading the day, since I am a cashier and I remember what it was like last year.

(Not taken at my work, btw, just a photo I found online)

However, today is Veterans Day, and so I have stopped and thought about my grandpa, who served in WWII and earned a purple heart.  I was also thinking about the other men and women who have and are serving, and how grateful I am to them for their dedication and service.

This made me stop and realize that I need to think about the blessing I have in my life, and the things I should stop and remember to thank God for.  I have a lot of things to be thankful for, and in the rush of daily life, I tend to forget to remember them.

So, this is my challenge.  I challenge anyone willing to write down one thing each day that they are grateful for.  Starting today, and going on every day until Thanksgiving.  I will be doing this, and I think it'll help me to stop my whining and realize how good I really have it.

Okay, Day 1:  I am so grateful to the military who have and are serving.  I cannot describe how thankful I am, and I probably don't even know how blessed we are that there are so many of you willing to go and defend our freedom.  Thank you so much for your willingness and dedication.
