Half a day...bye bye!

Hey, sorry I haven't written for a while.  I know I've said this before, but I always feel like my life is boring so I don't feel it's "blog worthy."  I know it's weird.

Anyways, I had a crazy week.  Actually, we all had a crazy week.  We have been really busy and short handed, so it's been hard, but we did pretty good.  Friday and Saturday was INSANE and I don't really know why, other than maybe hunting/Fall/the 50th anniversary sale/people-are-crazy.  But, that's a good thing.  :-D

So on Thursday I went in at 8 AM and found out that we had enough people for the day, but closing we were short.  I think 4 or so of us stayed longer than we should, at least 2 or more hours (manager's request).  But, I stayed until 8 PM.  Yes folks, that is 12 hours, but if you take away my hour lunch (I don't get paid for) that's 11 hours.  Yes, the money will be lovely and worth it, but...wow.  I only did it once before and I swore I wouldn't do it again.  Ha.  Anyways, we had fun.  My feet and legs were very mad at me though.

Saturday we went to Robert's Crafts' Ladies Night Out and that was kind of fun, other than it was busy and we didn't win anything :(.  But that's okay, maybe next year.

So, that was my week.  :P  Still really not that "blog worthy" but oh well.

YAY!!!

So, it's my birthday Sunday (yay) and I'll be 23. Wow. Almost mid twenties...that feels kinda odd.

Also, we just bought a '98 Pontiac Montana. It fits all of us with extra room to move (and breathe), and it goes in reverse! Our '00 Chevy Blazer stopped going in reverse, and is leaking oil very badly, so we decided it was time to just give it a rest. We're also thinking of getting a 'round the town car, but for now...I'm happy :D. What an awesome birthday so far, and it's not even Sunday yet. hehehe

And a bunch of us from work went to see "She's Just Not That Into You" (along with my sister). It was awesome! I love that movie!

Oh, and 3 people at work took me to lunch on Friday. That was really fun. I also got a CAL Ranch gift card...sa-weet! And I have to decide what I want for dinner on Sunday...and I don' t know :S

Update

I haven't updated for a while...

Okay, so my ear was bugging me, as I told you before. I should've gone to the doctor (silly Liz), but I didn't. Anyway about a week ago, I was starting to think I really needed to go on my next day off, when I burped a little with my mouth closed, and I heard a "pop" and I could miraculously hear! It was amazing! I was kind of excited :-P

But the last couple of days I've been kinda run-down and not feeling so good. I think I got a *little* cold, but I'm feeling better :-D. I had to tease one of the assistant managers though, because he was sick, so I had one of the other assistant managers kick him. It was pretty funny. Anyway, I told him I forgave him :-D. I don't really blame him, but he gives me a hard time, so why shouldn't I give him a hard time back?

Anyway, things are going good for the most part. I still have a job, and it's not that awful of a job (it could be worse...and has been). I have a house, and a loving family.

Another Year Gone...

It's hard for me to believe that another year is past and gone, but it has...and I hope it's a good one.

Not much has gone on recently, but I still kinda like my job. I'm not ready to go back to work yet, but I have to tomorrow. Oh well...

One of those days...

Hey all,

So, I had a bath the other night, and now my ear is plugged up. It's really quite annoying more than it's painful, and it's just frustrating me.

Other than that, though, life has been good. I bought myself a new phone for my Christmas present (yay) and get to keep my current phone number (another yay) so I don' t have to go through the hassle of changing it.

Anyway, I had to work Sunday (boo) but it's pretty busy, surprisingly. We didn't make our quota, which really surprised me, but it made the day go by faster. :-D

Anyway, so I have today and tomorrow off, and I hope my ear is semi-normal by Thursday :-/

Black Friday

Okay, so I got to work a little before 6:30 on Friday morning. There were at least 20 people lined up (in the freezing cold) at the doors. INSANE! And more kept coming between then and 7, when we opened the doors. They just kept coming all day, we were insanely busy, but it was actually kinda fun. Everyday is kind of slow now compared to that, but it was good :-D.

I have one more day, and then I have two days off. I am so tired...

Finally, an update

It's about time I updated, isn't it? Actually, probably WAY past time.

Alright, so to track backwards for a moment, the Smash Mouth concert was great. I had a lot of fun, but my ears were ringing for almost two days afterward. I could hear, so that's good, but everything was sort of muffled...it was almost like being underwater. Anyway, after the concert, my cousin surprised my sister, my other cousin, and me with signed copies of the new Smash Mouth CD. It was pretty exciting :-D And it's a really good album.





I really have a few things I wish I could say, but I'm always afraid of saying things about work on my blog because I'm afraid someone will find it and I'll get fired. So, let's just say that it hasn't been the greatest lately, but I still enjoy working there. I am happy that, unlike at Convergys, Sonic or even Disney World at times, I get acknowledged and praised for my work. Not everyone does that, but most of the mangers and a few employees do too. Liz = :-D

Oh, and one of the assistant managers moved into my home ward (and not that far from where I live, either) and my family went to help him move in. Well, they have a 7 year old boy who gives nicknames to people, I guess, and he gave me the name "Sizzler." Well, I'm afraid that it's stuck for life, and I'll just have to live with it at work...but he's a cute kid, and it's worth it :-D

I'm reading the third Fabelhaven right now. I am so addicted to these books, and I love reading so much.

I voted today. I won't tell you who, because I'd rather not fight about it with anyone right now. I am just so sick of the election that, however it turns out, I am glad that it's finally over and we can just kind of move on and deal with whatever is thrown at us.

I am already sick of the cold weather, and I know that it's just going to get colder. UGH! I can not wait for 70 degree weather again!!! To stay!!! It is pretty outside though, it's just fall like and I love it.

Sad news...

First piece of sad news:

The guy who hired me is transferring to another store. This may be good for him, but ALL of us are going to miss him. ALL of us.

Second piece of sad news (but old news):

Stephenie Meyer announced on her website that she may not be writing Midnight Sun because it had leaked illegally onto the internet. I was really looking forward to it, and it makes me sad that you can't trust people in this world. I'm learning that more and more.
She does have it on her website, though, the partial draft.
