Farewell 2014, Welcome 2015
It's hard to believe we are closing the book on another year. It feels like that this year just sped past! One moment I'm trying to decide back in 2012 if I wanted to go back to school then bam! It's 2015!!! I feel this is bitter sweet. On the one hand, it's nice to start over clean. On the other hand, I've had great stuff happen, so it's hard to say goodbye to all that and turn that into a loving memory. However, I have a great wonderful feeling about 2015.
I've mentioned this before, but I hate the word resolution. One because it's an excuse..."oh, I broke my resolutions! Oh well everyone does!" Two because you're expecting to break them the minute you make them! I feel a lot of people make resolutions because everyone does! And they're all the same: lose weight, save money, get more sleep...etc. Also, the word "resolution" comes from a latin word that means to "loosen or release," To me, that means I need to release something, but I don't! Maybe it's just me, but I don't like "resolutions."
However, I like goals. Attainable, important, and life changing goals. Ones that will stick. I feel that using the opportunity of a new year to start over is nice though. I dunno, maybe I am doing it because I don't want to feel left out. However, these are goals I want to do and I want to stick to them and accomplish them. I feel they are important to me and they are something I want to do in order to be happy, healthy, and stronger in 2015.
I always share my goals but this year I don't feel I need to. It feels like a popularity contest and seeing who has what goals and "oh I can do that" or "oh I can do better than that!" and I don't want to turn it into that. This is a personal journey I'm on. I don't mind sharing milestones or accomplishments, because it feels good to reach a goal and to get support and love from all of you.
Here are a few things that I'm looking forward to this year!
January: School starts on Monday! Eek!
February: My 29th birthday! Eek!!
April: Finals and the end of another semester!
May: SPAIN! I am so excited and nervous! It's going to be wonderful though!
June-August: Summer and the start of another year at SUU!
Thank you so much for all the love and support you have all given me over the past year, and may 2015 bring you all happiness, love, and many wonderful blessings,
