I wrote a letter to myself about a year ago and I found it again today. I need it yet again, so I think I need to post it somewhere I can see it constantly when I need a boost. I wanted to share it with you.
Dear Liz,
Sometimes you do things that maybe are less important than other things you could be doing. You have great intentions, but you get distracted and before you know it, the less important things took over your whole day and you didn't get much of anything you had planned done.
But you know what? That's ok. You can't expect yourself to be perfect. Mistakes happen, but don't just brush them off or let them take over. Don't beat yourself up. Find the middle ground, learn from it, and move on.
You really don't hate yourself. You might hate when you let yourself get distracted, but it happens. You can do this. Yes, it might be later in the semester, and you don't have much time left, but if you really manage your time, focus, and do what I know you can do, then it will be ok--and you can do better next semester.
Love,
Me
